The meaning of GP is grand parents. Before 2004 all the PS poultry hatcheries were importing parents stock from abroad at the cost of huge amount of US dollars. At that time, Rashik GP was not able to produce PS, as they didn’t have the necessary technical machineries and skilled workers, which are required. To meet up with the demand some of the companies started the production of PS in Bangladesh in the year 2005.
To meet up the PS demand Rashik GP Hatchery Ltd, a unit of Zaman Group of Industries started its PS production in 2006. As we know GP Hatchery is a very high-sensitive project, which requires state of the earth technology, strict bio-security and skilled manpower. Rashik GP has all the modern facilities that are needed to run a GP hatchery efficiently.
GP hatcheries need to have a strict bio-secured environment. That’s why; Rashik GP Hatchery had been set up in a rural area of Chuadanga, where very few people can go anywhere near it. Rashik GP has its own land of 1.67 acres. Concrete boundary walls surround all the land. Inside we have 6 complete poultry sheds, an office building, and a dormitory. Their total production capacity is 18,000 birds and yearly chick production is 1.5 million. After fulfilling Bangladesh demand they are looking to export PS to neighboring countries like Pakistan, Bhutan, Nepal and some Arab countries. Two PS poultry of Zaman Group, Rafid Poultry & Hatchery Ltd. and Nova poultry Ltd. also buys PS from Rashik GP Hatchery Limited to fulfill their respective demand.

Vision: By 2015, Rashik GP Hatchery Limted will run a modern Slaughtering house and a Further Processing Unit.
